A Normal Sunday

So my family turned into the drive of our church this morning. Due to life getting in the way, we were a few minutes late. The closer got to the front doors the music got louder. Praise and worship is taken seriously here, and like most days it was easy to hear the music made from the nine on the stage.

Once we entered the chapel I was pleased to see so many people there this morning. I am new to this church, and never understood what people were talking about being Born Again before I entered the front gates those few months ago. How can you not smile when you see all those people who share in you love for the Lord?

When everyone in my group gets to where we will be sitting down I look around the chapel, and I am heartwarmed. In the corner of the chapel I see Brother Bob, who teaches a Bible class on Tuesdays, dancing with his granddaughter to the music. Throughout the church we see people waiving to each other smiling, just glad they are here to spend time with the Lord in fellowship.

To my left there is a man sitting down, obviously struggling. A couple men just sit down next to him and pray with him. Once done, another stays there for a while till he no longer is in the pain he was in. Just a moment later a small smile on his face as Pastor Marshall begins to speak.

To my right two ladies walk in, find an area to sit, and then begin moving to the music. It would seem a bit loud, but in this festive atmosphere, it’s only natural. A blur streaks across the front of the chapel till it connects with the ladies. A little girl from a different family comes and shares her love with them through an enormous hug.

When Pastor Marshall steps onto the stage he pulls out a piece of paper and tells of how the family took a young man off life support. A week later the young man is talking to his family. He sums it all up reminding us that “God is still in the miracle business!”

As Pastor sends the kids out to youth service, I see a mountain of a man, who attends the early morning
Bible study with me, send his daughter off as he grabs his notebook to keep notes on today’s service.
Today missionaries that our church supports tell us of their progress in spreading their faith in Eastern
Sudan. I can only imagine the dangers they face as they try to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I find myself looking around again in wonder at the home I’ve found. “Is this an unusual service?” I ask myself.

No it’s an extraordinary, yet just another Sunday at LIVING FAITH CHURCH in Youngsville, Louisiana.

A needed piece of perspective.

So I asked a person I greatly admire about my worries for the next 4 years. Shortly after he sent me this:
Your faith in what God can do is little. What happens in 4 years has nothing to do with who's president, but more to do with who's praying. You know what's sad, rather than the church spend the next 4 years praying for our president, they will wait for 4 years to see if the next candidate will be pro life. God himself said this. “When my people that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray THEN will they see a change.” Not when the right candidate is elected, but when we, God's people humble ourselves and PRAY. But we refuse. We will criticize and curse with our tongues out own president because he is leaving the choice of whether people do the right things by God between them and God. The church is so hypocritical.
If Romney wins we gotta pray. If Obama wins we gotta pray. Y? Because the laws that they put, or don't put, in place don't change people's hearts. And weave by a different standard than any law. Our help and gifts come from our God. Not man or democrat or republican.

If your so inclined please spend a few minutes to pray for our country.

A rant about Choice/Life

When I first saw my daughter’s ultrasound I saw a life. It changed mine in more ways than one. Both my mother (A 60’s flower child) and I went from being pro-choice to pro-life instantly. Many other changes occurred, but the more I learned the more I believe that an abortion kills a thinking being. Science is finding a fetus’s learns before birth. http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/healthcare/244723-dnc-platform-supports-partial-birth-abortion-excludes-language-for-abortion-to-be-rare#.UE0iakRQ-7U  The learning time seems to be getting more and more closer towards conception.  As a Christian I can’t vote to take a life. This is why I am now opposed to the death penalty. I could not understand how the GOP says they are pro-life, yet be able to kill murderers.  Of course, how can the other side say the death penalty is murder, and yet an unborn child that has done nothing wrong can be killed.
Ok a moment here. Roe v Wade will not be struck down. Chief Roberts is against it, it’s not on Romney’s list of important things. (No he’s not said it, but if he is elected it will be over the economy). First and most of the second term abortions are completely safe.  I will say that while I oppose the early abortions I can deal with them only because I do value a woman’s right to choose. HOWEVER, There are some votes I would love to make.
Partial  Birth Abortion: First off,  I completely understand “in the case of the life of the mother” strict guidelines being set. I know in my case, if we were to have another child my wife will sign a living will to make sure her wishes will be followed in case something happened with our child. I know how I feel about abortion, but I just can’t lose that woman. Now, In the case where the mother’s life is not, how can you kill a baby that can learn? How? You are taking a baby out of the womb and killing it. As the parent of a child born 6 weeks premature child this scares the crap out of me.
So how can my daughter have to have my consent to get a nose job, but she does not have to in order to get an abortion. Don’t believe me? http://www.northfloridawomenshealth.com/parentalnotification.html This is not just in case of rape or incest.  Are you KIDDING me? My minor child, ya know the one where I go to jail if she misses school too much can go and get an abortion, and I have no say. Please. That is outrageous.
Both of these two issues are heavily supported by Planned Parenthood and the DNC. Please remember an organization that makes a lot of money off of abortions.  PP from the procedure, and then the money PP gives the DNC.
Finally a topic we can all disagree about. When I make a mistake I have to pay for it. At least I thought I did. There is a push to make sure public funding for abortions is the law of the land. Why? If the sex is consensual you made the choice to have sex. You should pay for the consequences.  Why should I pay for someone else’s elective surgery?  After all it is a choice.
OK rant over.
I know this little post won’t change someone from Choice to pro-life. However, I do hope that just as you think no one should be Pro-life in all cases, Pro Choice is not absolute.  Also while you hear the DNC say how radical the GOP is, maybe they better be careful throwing stones.
I would like to thank @BigKev and  @A_MacNab for reading this and catching things in it.  I will say that I am speaking only for me and no one else.

Happy Anniversary My Love!

Seventeen years ago, after knocking down a lit candle and lots and lots of nerves, I heard the two words that have made my life better ever since, “I Do.”  Since then there have been different states, different jobs, and different lifestyles.  I have lost friends, gained friends, and yet there is still my Best friend.
She has put up with my obsessions, my transgressions, and even quite a few mutual lessons. Through it all, I smile on the way home, because it is to the wonderful woman who said “I do.”  The woman who has given us so much, including the greatest gift of a wonderful daughter.
It is east to say I Love You. I said it the day I asked her to marry me, and I hope I have every day since, and every day that is to come.
On this Seventeenth Anniversary of the day we got married I just want to thank you for saying “I do.”  You have been so far much better than I could ever have asked for a partner.   I thank God for the day you brought her into my life. Without a doubt, I can’t wait to have so many more.

A Strictly Unauthorized Scene

So this is not from Chuck vs the World, but this is for the fans who want Chuck and Sarah together.

Yeah I was feeling sarcastic when I wrote this. The following is a bit suggestive. Probably need to be an adult to read it. Hey Mel Brooks got away with it.
Chuck wrapped his arms around the beautiful blond bombshell. When he did she stiffened and backed up a step. Sarah then looked deeply into Chucks eyes. She was tired of the wait. Less than a week was far too long, she needed some Grade A Chuck right now. The nearest surface was a bed, so she pushed him down onto it while grabbing a knife from out of seemingly nowhere.  She cut the white button up shirt off him and exposed the skin underneath.
She gasped as the ripped musculature dominated her vision. Small amounts of drool fell from her mouth as she lusted after the six pack before her. Sarah grabbed Chucks belt in order to remove the pants that held her primary objective.
Before she could rip off her pants, Chuck grabbed her and rolled her on her back. Once there Chuck made quick work of the flimsy blouse.  After seeming to burn her skin with gentle kisses down her stomach, her pants following quickly along with her shirt in a heap on the floor.  Chuck journey lead lower and lower till he reached her core. Sarah’s screams of joy were heard well past the small confines of the room. The biggest problem was the sheet rock falling from the ceiling from her vocal cries of ecstasy.  Sarah could take no more as her eyes bored into is as she moaned now Chuck NOW.
Chuck stood up as he took his belt off. As he grabbed his zipper he heard in an Austrian accent for some reason, “So is it true what they say about you nerds”

ZZZIIIIPPPP

“It’s true.  It’s true!”

8 Hours later
After the best sex of her life Sarah rolled of the super stud. She just lay there quivering. When she glanced to her side Sarah saw Chuck with one leg propped in the air drinking Gatorade from a jug, streams of water hitting his chest. Don’t worry Sarah, after I drink this water I will be good for another twelve hours. I love you Sarah, your hair your beautiful Blue eyes.

20,000 words later
And that’s how I feel about you Sarah. I want you to have my babies.

Now back to youre regularly scheduled program.
